1. Local-First by Design

ForgeMD stores your documents on your own device first. Nothing you write leaves your machine unless you explicitly enable cloud sync, push a document, or share it with someone.

2. Data We Collect

When you create an account we store your email address and profile name (via AWS Cognito). If you enable cloud sync, we store the documents you choose to sync. We collect basic technical logs needed to operate the service.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide the service: authenticating you, syncing and sharing the documents you choose, and sending transactional emails such as invitations. We do not sell your data or use your documents for advertising.

4. Payments

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details — only the subscription status needed to unlock paid features.

5. Third-Party Services

We rely on a small set of processors to run ForgeMD: AWS (hosting and authentication) and Stripe (billing). Each processes only the data required for its function.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Documents you delete from the cloud are removed from our servers. Deleting your account removes your profile and synced content. Local files on your device always remain under your control.

7. Your Rights

You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
